Rush!
What is Rush?
Rush is a time, during the beginning of each semester, that we have open events and activities that allow you to see what we are as a fraternity. During Rush, you get to see our house, see our brothers, both active and alumni, and be able see how we work as a brotherhood. We call rush the lifeline of the fraternity; it is the most important chapter activity since it draws in new members and keeps the chapter alive. During rush, the active brothers get an idea of who is serious about joining AEPi and who would mesh well with our national and local ideologies. It's important to keep a few things in mind while attending rush events: be friendly and get known, and don't be afraid to be yourself!
Why should I join AEPi?
Joining AEPi is more than just parties and great times, it’s about being in a fraternity with the highest GPA on campus, being in a fraternity that gives back to the community through philanthropies and community service, and being in a fraternity that prides itself on being respectful and open to others.
It is also about joining a fraternity that is almost all Jewish (there are brothers, every once and awhile who are not), and being able to keep your religion with you while still having fun.
Ok, so I am interested, but I keep on hearing these terms like bid and pledge, what are these?
A bid is an invitation to join a fraternity. Bids may be extended to a rushee after the fraternity has gotten to know him. Rushees should not feel pressured or obligated to accept a bid. Rushees may receive numerous bids from different fraternities and it is up to them to decide on which one best suits them. A bid is given towards the end of the Rush process.
A pledge is a student who has decided that he would like to become a brother of the Fraternity. The pledge process is the opportunity for the brotherhood to decide if the pledge is able to be a brother of the fraternity. It is considered a trial period where education of the fraternity takes place.
I would like to Rush AEPi, where do I start?
